Spring Competition 2019

The 2019 Spring Competition commences on Monday, 9 September 2019. The competition will run for a total of 10 weeks with the final matches finishing in week beginning Monday, 25 November 2019.

All teams will be playing 10 matches (subject to weather, exception for bye grades and forfeits).

Registration

KNA Spring Competition registrations are open today Monday, 29 July and will close on Wednesday, 14 August 2019. All teams must register through their Clubs. No late team registrations will be accepted after the deadline.

Players may play in both Ladies (15+ years) and Senior Mixed Competition (must be 18+ years of age). You must notify your Club Registrar that you want to play in both competitions, although fees are payable for one competition only. Players registering with more than one club will be charged a 2nd club fee.

If you are registering for someone under 18 years old, there is a second $100 Active Kids voucher available that can be used to register. However, the price for most registrations is less than $100 and you will not be able to claim the balance of the voucher later.

Divisions

Teams may indicate which division they prefer to play in but there is no guarantee that preference can be given. Please advise at least 2 divisions/times/days your team can play.

Please also advise of times and days that your teams cannot play. Teams that do not comply with these rules will not be graded.

Please note that we will be trialling rotating timeslots for Ladies Divisions playing on Monday and Tuesday nights only – 7.00 pm, 7.50 pm and 8.40 pm.

The competition is likely to run as outlined below, to be finalised once the grading is completed. All time slots are subject to a number of teams registered and grading.

Monday night @ Lofberg Courts (Indicative Winter competition grades)

  • Ladies Comp Division 6 (B5)
  • Ladies Comp Division 5 (B4)
  • Ladies Comp Division 4 (B2 & B3)

Tuesday night @ Lofberg Courts Indicative Winter competition grades

  • Ladies Comp Division 3 (B1)
  • Ladies Comp Division 2 (A3 & A4)
  • Ladies Comp Division 1 (A1 & A2)

Wednesday afternoon @ Canoon Courts @ 5.00 pm

  • Junior Girls (9/10 years)
  • Junior Comp (11/12 years Girls and Mixed)

Please indicate clearly on your registration forms the specific junior grade you are registering for e.g. Junior Comp (9/10 years) or Junior Comp 11/12 years or Junior Mixed Comp 11/12.

The Inter Comp is considered a Mixed Competition and as such, Mixed Comp standard rules will apply. KNA is allowing girls only teams to play in this competition.

Wednesday night @ Lofberg Courts (Indicative Winter competition grades)

  • Intermediate/Mixed* – after 5 pm, subject to number of teams registered & grading
  • Ladies Comp Division 7 (C1 + New Players)
  • Ladies Comp Division 8 (C1 + New Players)
  • Ladies Comp Division 9 (if required) (C1 + New Players)

Mixed Divisions

For Mixed Divisions, at any one time, a maximum of four (4) female and three (3) male players can take court at any one time. Both sexes must be represented in a mixed team at all times. Five (5) players constitute a team, consisting of two (2) males and three (3) females minimum on the court. maximum of one (1) male per team may play in each third. All Registrars must supply a date of birth for all players in Mixed teams.

Representative Players

Should any Junior/Intermediate/Cadet/Ladies/Senior team wish to enter a team which has more than 3 representative players, no more than 3 representative players are permitted to take the court at any one time, unless permission has been granted at time of grading based on the quality of team entries. There is no restriction as to the number of representative players registered (for definition of rep player, please refer to Spring Competition Rules Book).

Umpires and Equipment

All Clubs must supply their own umpire at the standard required for their grade (recommended experienced National C for all Cadet and Senior grades). Your team will need to pay your umpire $20 per game, in cash on the day of each game. If your team has a specific umpire you have organised, please email umpire@stivesnetball.com.au with their details. If you would like an umpire assigned to your team, please also email indicating this. Teams are also required to provide their own equipment (balls and bibs). Mangers, please email Steph at equipment@stivesnetball.com.au to organise this.

Managers

Every team is required to have a manager. Can all managers please email Sophie (springcomp@stivesnetball.com.au) your team list and preferred grade/playing history ASAP (before everyone registers is fine) and indicate any times your team can/cannot play (this is not guaranteed but we will try our best). Please also indicate if you have an umpire organised for your team (with their details) or if you would like one allocated to you.
